Maryellen Brett

As Director of Massasoit’s Community College’s Corporate and Professional Training initiatives, Maryellen brings extensive leadership experience in higher education and workforce development. Prior to coming to Massasoit, she served as executive director for the South Shore Workforce Investment Board, managing the planning and execution of a wide array of workforce training initiatives, special projects and youth education & employment programs for 22 communities. Prior positions include serving in leadership positions at the University of Massachusetts Boston, as director of alumni and career programs in the College of Management as well as the assistant director of Undergraduate Admissions. Maryellen’s background in successfully initiating public-private partnerships, working with businesses and non-profit agencies, are assets to the College’s business development efforts. Maryellen has a BA from the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Steven Litcoff, the Associate Director of Corporate and Professional Training, spent the ten years before joining Massasoit Community College as an administrator handling the training of large staffs, as well as budgetary, hiring, staff performance, and fund-raising functions. At Massasoit, he directed the $200,000 Energy Efficiency Grant that provided participants with customized training, internships, and job placement. Most recently he became part of the Workforce Development division as an Associate Director. Steve’s experience working with curriculum, training, and businesses has been a great asset to the college. He is presently working on his Master’s degree and resides in Easton with his wife and son.

Massasoit Community College trainers are seasoned professionals with years of experience in their areas of expertise. They have worked in and trained for companies, so they are able to use “real life” business examples during trainings. Once we thoroughly understand a company’s training needs, we choose the professional trainer who is the very best fit for that content area. Curriculum is adapted to company terminology and targeted problem areas are presented as situational case studies. Plus, our professional trainers make the sessions non-threatening, enthusiastic, enjoyable, with targeted outcome objectives.
