Welcome to the Reading Department Web site!
We offer two reading courses:
Preparing for Reading I and Preparing for Reading II. During orientation students will take a computerized placement test (CPT) which determines the reading level and placement into Preparing for College Reading I (score of 45 or below on the CPT), Preparing for College Reading II (score of 46-67 on the CPT), or exempts students (score of 68 or higher on the CPT) from the reading courses.
The Board of Higher Education mandates the CPT test and determines the cut-off scores. Retesting is allowed.
