PDCC 001 American Sign Language
This course teaches the primary structures of signing. Participants will be introduced to conversational relevant signs, finger spelling, classifiers, facial expression, body language, grammatical sign principles and deaf culture.
PDCC 002 Appropriate Anger Management in the Workplace
Helping adults in the workplace to solve their own problems with colleagues can be difficult. Some people seem to naturally do this more effectively than others. We know that people can successfully acquire new skills during adulthood, which can assist them in resolving problems and conflicts at work. Participants will learn to analyze their own conflict resolution style, and will learn concrete skills that can be used to manage their own disputes, thereby developing a more positive and productive work climate.
PDCC 003 Bank Teller Training
This course is designed for any employee who is involved in a customer/teller relationship on a full-time or part-time basis. Emphasis is placed on training new employees as well as upgrading the skills of current tellers with one year or less experience. Topics will include the teller role and demeanor, banking fundamentals, types of products and services that most financial institutions provide, check handling, as well as proper ways to handle and count cash.
PDCC 004 Basic Accounting Skills
This course is designed for non-business majors. Emphasis is on record keeping systems for service and merchandising concerns. The accounting cycle through trial balance, adjustments, and financial reports is studied. Topics include control of cash, receivables and payables as well as worksheets, bank reconciliation, and payroll.
PDCC 005 Blueprint Reading
This course provides an introduction to blueprint reading. Topics will include principles of orthographic projection, lines, symbols abbreviation dimensioning and tolerances interpretation of multi-view, section and assembly drawings, numbering system and drawing format.
PDCC 006 Business / Report Writing
Writing as a major form of communication must be clear, concise, and attention getting. This course will concentrate improving your business writing. Participants will compose their own draft documents to analyze.
PDCC 007 Certified Food Handling
This course specializes in on-site services which brings training to your facilities tailoring the training to address any sanitation issue concerns that affect your facility. This is a certification program which will fulfill the requirements in Massachusetts and in most other states nation wide.
PDCC 008 Coaching People to Work at Peak Performance
This course is for supervisors and managers responsible for managing staff performance. Managing an employee's performance always requires three phases: planning, coaching and appraisal. This course will assist participants to understand the process and to write effective performance plans and appraisals and to recognize the importance of coaching.
PDCC 009 Command Spanish ®
This customized Spanish language program is for non-Spanish speakers who interact with Spanish-speakers in the workplace. The classes deploy techniques that teach specific, occupational language skills. Command Spanish® materials are one-way communication techniques to train participants to say things in Spanish, but not to receive or understand complicated incoming messages. PDCC 011 Conflict Resolution
Any group of people working together will experience situations of conflict. Learning to manage and resolve situation conflict has become an essential tool in effective management. This course will explore the nature and dynamics of conflict, assertive communication, preferred styles for dealing with conflict, fairness issues and the value of joint problem-solving to produce win-win situations. You will learn to identify the five typical responses to conflict and how to diagnose, plan, prepare and implement an effective action plan to resolve conflict constructively.
PDCC 012 Construction Math
This course is a study of basic arithmetic skills including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, proportions and measurement.
PDCC 013 CPR
This course will certify you in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. You will become proficient in Basic Life Support, as well as gain knowledge in cardio-pulmonary health promotion, and the skills needed to provide assistance to fellow employees and customers when needed. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive certification in CPR.
PDCC 014 Dealing with Difficult Customers
In this course you will learn practical ground rules for handling conflict; to be assertive without being aggressive; why some people are difficult and some are not; and to identify the many faces of impossible behavior. You will also learn specific coping techniques to deal with all types of difficult people; to keep cool and not crumble under pressure; to stand up to bullies; and to monitor the mood-manipulators.
PDCC 016 Effective Performance Appraisal
The subject of performance appraisals can be either difficult and depressing or dynamic and positive. This workshop will help you through the process, provide you with guidelines in effective appraisal discussions, identify the pitfalls to avoid, help with attitudinal change necessary in conducting or participating in the process, and provide pointers on dealing with unsatisfactory performance, etc.
PDCC 018 English as a Second Language
The goal of this course is to develop English language skills, with particular emphasis on reading comprehension. Grammar will be taught with the primary goal of recognition and understanding of the structure, it will focus on the ability to write complete sentences and short paragraphs. Workplace materials will be incorporated into the training.
PDCC 023 Leadership Skills
This program will enable managers to analyze their leadership style, explore approaches to effective leadership, and maximize the effectiveness of their organization from both a system and an interpersonal perspective. This program also will provide participating decision-makers with a format for understanding the dynamics of leadership. In order to identify priorities, situation contingencies and leadership styles will be discussed. PDCC 024 Leading and Managing Successful Teams

PDCC 033 Preventing Sexual Harassment
Handling a sexual harassment complaint is difficult, but it can mean the difference between a lawsuit and internal resolution. This workshop will define sexual harassment and identify types of harassment. You will learn sexual harassment prevention techniques, how to stop it from happening if it does occur, how to receive and record a sexual harassment complaint, and how to interview the alleged offender and what appropriate action to take.
