Massasoit College Police Civilian Dispatchers are responsible for receiving and processing all emergency calls requesting police, fire and medical response on both campuses. Dispatchers determine the nature, seriousness and location of the emergency in order to send police officers. Dispatchers also determine priorities, such as, but not limited to police, fire, ambulance or other emergency units as necessary and in accordance with established department procedures.
A Massasoit Civilian Dispatcher’s duties include, taking routine non-emergency business calls, calls by radio and telephone from all outside law enforcement agencies or providing assistance to students, faculty and staff, maintain files, data entry, department logs and criminal record keeping.
